Thank you for showing up and showing out at our first monthly meeting of 2026! You came with wisdom, questions, thoughts, and ideas worthy of so much more time than what we had. I am incredibly honored to be in this transformational space with each of you. What you can expect moving forward is a follow-up email after our monthly call. At times, you may not be able to be on the call, but that does not mean that you are shut out from the information. I encourage you to get to know each other, make a friend, share insight, and grow in this learning space.
This email will also include a space for anyone to share thoughts and questions from the call (it doesn’t matter if you were on or not; this space is for anyone as a follow-up). We spent time yesterday thinking through a few prompts that tie directly into content and learning that you want to see in this virtual space. Your membership should “feed” you through our interactions, and this group of incredible professionals was able to come up with thoughts and ideas that will keep us “fed” for a while. Please allow the team to work through some of the information that was shared.
A few takeaways from our call:

Time was spent gathering ideas for content to share during our monthly calls.

This group of amazing rockstars continues to inspire and excite me. The sky is the limit for how you will improve instruction within your area of the nation. Greetings NSAII!!!
I always love being in this virtual space with you and soaking up the energy and excitement that you bring into this work. Thank you for coming to our March Monthly Collaborative meeting this past Thursday. To recap, we heard about NEA Micro-Credentials as well as information pertaining to a NEA grant.
Several links were shared, and they can all be found within the notes that are attached. With the Professional Excellence Grant, I know that this group of amazing thinkers will be able to create transformational programs and projects within their respective affiliates. Come up with a thought, figure out what the problem might be for a specific population, and apply for a grant. With the NEA Micro-Credentials, these are a great resource to share with members. And don’t forget about the new AI stack!
Member Conference Planning Committee – we are still looking for one volunteer from the Mid-Atlantic and one volunteer from the Northeast regions. If you have a desire to help with the conference planning and you are in one of these regions, please send me an email to let me know. I will be emailing the planning committee next week. If this role speaks to you, please let me know no later than Wednesday.

Greetings NSAII!
Whew. I don’t know about you, but life has been ROLLING. Thank you for your patience with receiving this email. I know that I am a bit late with sending out the follow up email to our monthly collaborative meeting, but I figured I should tell myself the same thing that I tell you…take the time that you need to breathe. In this work, at times we can take a quick breath and at other times, we need to put on the oxygen mask. Whichever way you need to breathe, take the moment to do so.
To recap our meeting (minutes are attached), I get goosebumps when we let this group loose to imagine what could be, pull apart what is not working, and create what should happen. As a group, we thought about our conference agenda and how we would like to learn and spend our time for when we physically come together. All of your thoughts will be considered in planning the agenda.
We heard about the micro credential stack that was made in partnership with Microsoft. This is an incredible bonus for our members (and potential members who pay). See the meeting minutes which are attached for the links or reach out to Brandy to schedule some time to chat.
Please check out the NSAII Website to book your hotel room for our conference. Remember the room block closes on October 1st. Our hotel is GEOURGOUS so get your reservation booked early! Conference registration will open on June 1st. You must be a member for the 2026-2027 membership year to come to the conference. More information will be shared in May during our monthly meeting.
Our conference theme is Unmasking the System: Transparency and Accountability from the Front Line. Our keynote is the incredible Louisiana 2020 Teacher of the Year, Chris Dier. Tell a friend that this conference is going to be the event of the year and to consider joining us in NOLA.

Greetings NSAII!
Thank you again for another incredible meeting on May 28th! Our “choose your own conversation” time hopefully gave you an opportunity to engage with other like-minded individuals around a like-minded topic.
I shared that information would come out with all things about our conference. Please see below, follow along, and ask questions.
Many of you have asked for a flyer that could be used with potential and returning members as well as with your leadership teams. Feel free to share this flyer far and wide. If you have questions or need assistance with a conversation, just let either myself or your VP know.
This is our space to learn and grow together. Take some time to peruse through the tabs. You will notice that there is a tab called “Member Site Home”. Once you pay your membership fee, you will gain access to a trove of resources (directory, past meeting recordings, documents, etc.). After the conference, this will also be a place to find resources that were shared. As you share what you need, NSAII will work to create an electronic space that fills your cups. Stay tuned!
When you join, you can either join as membership only or conference/membership. If you are not able to physically be with us in New Orleans for our conference, we hope that you are able to continue your membership.
RFP to Present at the Conference
Submit your session proposal for the National Staff Association for the Improvement of Instruction (NSAII) 2026 Conference in New Orleans, LA, November 2026. Proposals should align with the conference themes of union values, strengthening public education, and professional excellence. RFPs are due by the end of day July 13, 2026 (if you are unable to submit by July 13, just send me an email). Keep in mind, you must be a member to present and attend the conference. I recognize that some of our members may use presenting as an avenue to get approval to come to the conference. If this scenario is you, please include that tidbit on your RFP in the “Specify any required specialized equipment” section and more information will be shared with you at that time.

The NSAII Awards are a wonderful way to “throw some shine” on yourself. Review the conference tab for more information. Please be aware that we do have a new award this year which is a Peer Nomination.

This year, we are looking to bring in an exhibit hall of sponsors. You previously shared information on Sponsors that you would like to see at NSAII. I am looking for a few volunteers who may be interested in assisting with reaching out to those organizations (or reaching out to members who have connections with those organizations). If this is you, please email me so that we can chat. Documents are ready to roll, we just need a bit of assistance with the “roll”.
As always, thank you to this incredible group of rock stars. I know that it is heavy out there and some of our members are going through some tough times in their affiliates. Keep each other uplifted, send a “thinking about you email”, and show each other a bit of kindness as we cross paths. You are not alone.
